Korean dramas are the heart and soul of Korean culture. Like all TV shows, Korean dramas come in a variety of genres, including romance, thriller, horror, and comedy. On the other hand, unlike American dramas, which are 30 minutes long, most episodes in Korean dramas are around an hour. Most people tend to watch Korean dramas using Viki or Drama Fever. In fact, some Korean dramas are available on
Netflix!
1. Descendants Of The Sun
This drama not only shows the relationship of a couple, but also the relationship between two people who want to be together but can't.
2. God's Gift
3. My Love From Another Star
This romance drama truly plays with the concept of fate, as an alien who has crashed on the planet Earth meets a human girl and falls in love with each of her reincarnations. However, not every romance drama is merely romance; this one involves some action as well.
This alien, who also possesses supernatural powers such as superhearing and teleportation, uses his powers to help protect his fated one from an evil human being. In addition to action and romance, this drama also strains your stomach by the immense amount of laughing you will do.
4. Moon Embracing The Sun
This drama is set in the Joseon Dynasty. The Crown Prince is doomed to find the princess for the throne, which leads to a kind of competition between the two girls to prove they are worthy of the future princesses. However, misfortune arises when one of the girls, the current Crown Prince's concern, falls under a mysterious curse that separates the two lovers. However, the girl survives and fate begins to work its magic. Trust me. This is definitely not a spoiler as we are currently deleting more information.
5. Heartstrings
If you love musicals, this drama is for you. Packed with beautiful music, this Korean drama contains several relationships. When two people from different worlds or musical groups come together, intimate leaders get to know each other better than ever before. From the beginning, the girl group of this Korean traditional music group begins to fall in love with the leader of a world-famous boy group. There, the two fight the difficulties of running a musical and a girl who doesn't stop to get what they want, the main character of the musical.
6. Boys Over Flowers
The son, the leader of the popular group of boys called F5 at school, is often fawned over by all of the girls. The girl, on the other hand, is heavily bullied by many for being poor. Somehow, F5 and JanDi's fates intertwine and they become closer than ever despite their differences in class. But as always, there is always a conflict, which is a disapproving rich mother who wants her son away from a poor girl.
7. Cinderella And Four Knights
This drama is one of the cutest Korean dramas I've ever seen. This drama is based on the famous Cinderella story. Eunha-won, a young girl, barely earning her college tuition, lives with her blunt stepmother and her half-sisters. One day her fate takes her to her wealthy club where she serves her pizza. There, her rich Hyun-min Kang hires her as her and his fiancee to show her grandfather that she has a happy and bright future.
However, turns out it was all a sham to ruin his grandfather's wedding, resulting in HaWon to publicly embarrass HyunMin to apologize in front of his grandfather. The grandfather eventually hires HaWon to become almost like a babysitter HyunMin and his two other cousins, Kang JiWoon and Kang SeoWoo. From there, HaWon deals with many inexplicable difficulties getting these three cousins to get along. But the mystery is, who's her true prince?
Of course, there are more than seven Korean dramas that will tug your heartstrings; however, these seven are the first people should watch when starting out Korean dramas. But be careful. Once you start, you can't stop.
